Relationships may be the best way to describe the foundation of J. L. Jones Homes Inc. After graduating from the University of Kansas, Larry spent the next fifteen years successfully climbing the corporate ladder, but had a desire to turn his true passion into a new career. Through the help of his brother, a long time builder-developer, Larry and his wife Jan had already developed their passion for homes by designing and building three personal homes for themselves and their children. In 1993 they decided to leave the corporate world and pursue the dream of building new homes for families - and pass along the same excitement they’ve enjoyed, to others. In this pursuit, Larry began selling homes for some of the best known builders in Johnson County, constantly learning and formulating what to incorporate into his future building company. In 1997, J. L. Jones Homes Inc was created with a very specific goal in mind: to build every home, regardless of size, to a higher standard (materials, craftsmanship and standard features) and to make the building experience an enjoyable and fun experience for every client.

In order to accomplish this goal, Larry and Jan realize that developing strong relationships are the key to this measurement of success. It starts at home with their relationship of faith and family. In order to build to a higher standard, it takes not only a personal commitment, it takes the time and energy to build relationships with your subcontractors so they realize they are part of the team (95% of their contractors they have had since the beginning). Building a relationship with each client is critical to understand what is important to them and to be able to incorporate their dreams and desires into the home they are building for themselves and family. To accomplish this, Larry meets personally with every client from the beginning, throughout the building process, conducts his own walk throughs and personally hands over the keys to their new home built by J. L. Jones Homes Inc. and all the dedicated relationships that make it happen.
